Countdown: Dragnet- Senator Craig (R), Just The Facts Who's the victim here?
Opinion posted by the CNR
Sept. 6, 2007
It would be easy to regard Idaho Sen. Larry Craig as just another right-wing hypocrite espousing so-called "family values" while secretly cruising for anonymous gay sex. And most Democrats are no doubt happy to see this conservative Republican get his comeuppance.
But it's a sad situation, nonetheless. The senator is clearly a painfully conflicted man who has lived a double life, and it would be cold-hearted not to feel some compassion for him. After more than a quarter-century of service to his party, he was suddenly a pariah, friendless, without an ally in the world. That had to hurt.
By Idaho standards, Craig was a reasonably good representative, which is why voters returned him to office so many times. He worked hard, he shared most Idahoans' values (which include opposition to gay marriage), and he brought home the bacon. But even if he had wanted to be honest about his sexuality, it was impossible to be out of the closet in such a conservative state and remain in politics.
Men like Craig who have secret lives are constantly balancing their sexual longings and their fear of being exposed. Craig's mistake was that, in an effort to try to escape public notice, he pleaded guilty to "disorderly conduct"–a decision he reportedly is now reconsidering.
And, really, what crime did he commit? It's clear that he was involved in a conversation of sorts involving various signals that would have led to sex, but it was a set of consensual negotiations that both parties accepted. Who's the victim here? Public sex is certainly a public nuisance, but criminalizing consensual behavior is worse, leading to the destruction of reputations and families as well as blackmail and extortion.
Ultimately, Craig was a victim of America's--and his own--lingering homophobia. We can only hope that the day soon comes when an openly homosexual candidate can run for U.S. Senate in Idaho--or anywhere, for that matter--and be judged not on the basis of his or her sexual orientation, but rather on the basis of talent, experience, track record and ideas.

"If anyone reproaches me and asks why I did not resort to the regular courts of justice, then all I can say is this: In this hour I was responsible for the fate of the German people, and thereby I became the supreme judge of the German people. It was no secret that this time the revolution would have to be bloody; when we spoke of it we called it 'The Night of the Long Knives.' Everyone must know for all future time that if he raises his hand to strike the State, then certain death is his lot."
My Resignation

Dear Butte Greens,
This letter is to inform you that I have resigned from my position
as county council member of the Green Party of Butte County,
a seat which I have held since November 1, 2000. It truly has
been a pleasure to serve you for the past seven years.
Our country, the Constitution and Bill of Rights, is under attack.
For many complex reasons, the Green Party is too weak and
divided at this time to come to its aid. So rather than expend
any more energy recruiting new volunteers to keep our local alive
through another election cycle, I've decided to move on. Anyone
wishing to carry on in my stead, please contact Michael
Borenstein at (530) 620-6659.
I've also come to believe that now is the time for people to cast
aside the labels that keep us divided as Americans - that is,
left vs. right, liberal vs. conservative, Green vs. Democrat vs.
Republican vs. Libertarian, etc, etc. These labels have created
devastating barriers that prevent us from listening to each other,
caring about each other and working together as Americans.
They prevent us from realizing that we do have important
common ground if we care to look for it. I hope to nurture that
common ground because that's what will unite us again as
We, the People in our efforts to stop needless wars, rediscover
family and neighbors, live within our means, and restore the
Constitution.
My immediate plans are to continue collecting signatures to
get the Chico Referendum Against the Disorderly Events
Ordinance on the ballot. This ordinance, recently passed 7
to 1 by our Chico City Council, is blatantly unconstitutional
and overreaching in power.
I will also continue campaigning for Congressman Ron Paul to
win the presidential nomination in the Feb 5th primary. I've
chosen him because his message of liberty resonates with
everyday Americans of all backgrounds and is helping to
break down the communication barriers mentioned above.
Google Ron Paul, and you will find that he calls for bringing
the troops home now, for ending U.S. interventionist foreign
policy, for decentralizing the government and upholding the
Constitution - all positions held by the Green Party. Should
he lose the primary, he will not betray his supporters by
throwing his support to whatever pro-war candidate gets the
nomination.
Like Ralph Nader, Ron Paul is a rare, brightly burning candle
in the dark void of American politics. As much as the leadership
of both these truly great and honorable men serve to awaken
and inspire us, it is ultimately We, the People who must respond.
So, in my resigning, I am not saying goodbye, but rather inviting
you to get involved.
Peace and love,
Marybeth

The Resistance?
For a few weeks now I have been thinking about getting rid of this page and tonight I have decided to do just that.
Like many of you, 9/11 was what brought me to the table and when I discovered that the official story was nothing like we had been told, I started hunting for the truth and that hunt has never stopped., nor will it ever stop. I spent about 6 months looking at just about evertything involving the New World Order conspiracy, including all of the crap thats out there and it didn't take me long to discover that every major conspiracy is somehow related to the New World Order, the mother, quite literally, of all conspiracies. Even down to the Titanic!
I get pages of friend adds everyday and this has been constant for about a year and because I left a banner as a comment on everybody's profile, I had the chance to read little bits of those profiles as I scrolled down to the comments. What I see are people who aren't even slightly interested in hunting for the truth but people who want it all handed to them on the plate. These people are mostly Americans. Why? Because they now have just about every part of the media telling them how shit George Bush is as a president so they are looking for an alternative and it really doesn't seem to matter what that alternative is, aslong as it is anti-Bush. For instance, I come across many people on a daily basis who have 'Vote For Hillary!" banners on their page and they are adding ME as a friend? This was absolutely mind boggling to me for a while but then I figured it out... Hillary isn't a Bush so she's great! It doesn't matter is she is part of the same ring of criminals because she has a different name! It'll take you an hour of research AT THE MOST to find out why you not only shouldn't be voting for Hillary Clinton but why you shouldn't be voting at all.
And then you get the people who know that Hillary Clinton is a crook but only because they have had that fact hammered into their brains by alternative media crooks, namely Alex Jones. In my experience, the people who listen to Alex Jones are just as ignorant as the folks who want to vote for Hillary Clinton because if you try to tell them something that Alex Jones doesn't preach or agrees with, you're a liar! Afterall, there's no way in the world that the hidden hand could have control of the alternative media because they are telling us the truth, right? Or are they just giving you bullshit mixed with a bit of truth in order to get you to dance to the tune the hidden hand has already mixed for you? There's no need to reply with an answer to that question because that is a question that you need to be asking yourselves. I already know the answer.
I leave you because I see that we are going nowhere and if the resistance is made up of the people that I have written about, I won't be having any part of it.
The last thing I will tell you is that I am absolutely certain that America is being set up for a revolution and it'll be just like every other revolution in history... a controlled one. Don't listen to people like Alex Jones who scream that you can beat the new world order because there is no way in the world you can do such a thing. It is far too late to even consider such a thing. What Jones and the rest of the crooks are doing is gearing you up to take to the streets and the second you do that, you can kiss goodbye to what is left of your freedom as martial law is declared. Have you ever wondered why there are so many pictures and videos of concentration camps in America but not in Britain or anywhere else in the west? I am confident that when martial law is declared, those who took to the streets will either be killed or rounded up and put into these camps. The reason why the official 9/11 story has so many holes in it is because it was planned that way. 9/11 is what has brought so many people to the table and so it was a job well done. Not only has it cost you some of your freedom, it has led you on the path to losing the rest of your freedom. It's actually quite ingenious when you think about it. Ofcourse, I don't expect anybody to listen to this message but I am sure that the picture has become a little clearer for a few of you.
Most of the people in this bullshit movement are just as much sheep as they were before, they just switched sides.
If you would still like to hear A View From Space, please send me an email. truthhunter@ntlworld.com
I apologise if I offended anyone as that wasn't my intention. I've just said it the way I see it.
God Bless you all and WAKE UP!

You won't believe what happened to ME!!!!
This event occurred in the rural area called Cazadero near the coast of Sonoma County, California. I have not described the details of this event since it happened. Your web site seemed legitimate enough. I have no concern regarding whether anyone reading this believes it or not. In fact, I don't care if anyone even reads this....I just felt like I needed to put the experience outside myself. I was hiking with my best friend ((name deleted)) in the woods of Cazadero, CA all day.....making our own trails and fasting for the weekend. We slept in a cabin that one of his friends had built. It was Autumn. This is what I remember after six years or so: I awoke up with a jolt in the middle of the night....very early in the morning.....probably about two or three AM.....and I was sitting upright in my bed totally paralized....I could move my head back and forth and up and down, but nothing else worked. I could not make a sound even though I tried to yell to my friend ((name deleted)) who was sleeping on the floor about seven feet away. He did not move or wake up during this event. I was seemingly in shock and could see with my eyes. I saw a being standing in front of me holding what looked like an electric thermometer with "his" right hand very close to the left side of my head. I believe it was this device that rendered in such a state. The being was slim and had the most beautiful skin....you have never seen such a pattern of grayish/green/tan. There was no hair on its head or body. It did not have the huge eyes that are depicted in the movies. It was not malevolent and tolerated my questions only briefly....these beings are very assertive if you communicate with them. You cannot speak with them....I cannot explain how I communicated with it. I know it had no intention of harm......it was curious about me....and there was only one of them as far as I could see. When I began to panic.....it released its "hold" on me and then I regained my consciousness as we normally experience it. It scared the crap out of me...but now I wish it woul! d happen again!

Next example of road kill came not far up the road.

Friends,
As I write this, a fleet of 100 starcraft are in formation over Roseville (a suburb of Sacramento), California
Army Sergeant Justin Johnson, a friend, just phoned me that the fleet is in a formation of two long lines, and hovering or very slowly moving at 2000' altitude above Roseville.
Justin was dumbfounded at the size of this formation, which dwarfs the five-craft display of presence over Lima, Peru some weeks ago.
The craft are best seen with sunglasses to cut through the glare from the sun on the smoggy air. Justin says that when a craft tilts slightly, the glint of reflected sunlight is quite distinct.
Apparently the Star Visitors are ramping up the size of their demonstration-of-presence flights over major population centers.
All to the good, as the UFO Cover-Up slowly but surely crumbles.

States crack down on soldier T-shirts By PAUL DAVENPORT, Associated Press Writer
Thu May 17, 4:53 PM ET
PHOENIX - Incensed by the sale of anti-war T-shirts and other paraphernalia emblazoned with the names and pictures of America's military dead, some states are outlawing the commercial use of the fallen without the permission of their families.
Despite serious questions of constitutionality, Oklahoma and Louisiana enacted such laws last year, and the governors of Texas and Florida have legislation waiting on their desks. Arizona lawmakers are on the verge of approving a similar measure.
"You should have some rights to your own name and your own legacy, particularly if you're a deceased veteran," said state Sen. Jim Waring, a Republican who sponsored the Arizona bill. "Celebrities have that. Why shouldn't our soldiers have that?"
The bills were prompted largely by pleas from military families upset that their loved ones' names and photos were being used on phone cards, body armor and other products.
In many cases, the target of their ire is Dan Frazier, a Flagstaff man who sells T-shirts online that list the names of 3,155 U.S. military personnel killed in Iraq. The shirts bear slogans such as "Bush Lied — They Died" and "Support Our Remaining Troops — Bring the Rest Home Alive."
Margy Bons, a Phoenix-area woman whose Marine reservist son, Sgt. Michael A. Marzano, was killed by an insurgent bomb in Iraq in 2005, said he believed in his mission.
"My son was not duped into going to war," she said. "I'm angry that somebody can use somebody else's name for their political beliefs without permission."
Frazier, 41, said he will not retreat. "I'm providing a valuable service to people to help show the enormity of the cost of war," he said.
Under the Arizona bill, violators could get up to six months in jail and fines of $2,500 for an individual and $20,000 for an enterprise. A spokeswoman for Gov. Janet Napolitano declined to say whether she would sign the bill if it reached her desk.
The Florida bill would impose a $1,000 penalty per violation for using a military member's name or photo commercially without permission.
Law enforcement officials in Oklahoma and Louisiana said they were unaware of any prosecutions under their laws. But the Arizona legislation also authorizes families to sue, and Bons said she will see Frazier in court.
Frazier said he has sold a couple of thousand shirts through his Web site, http://www.carryabigsticker.com, since 2005 and regards it as more of a political statement than a moneymaker. He said the shirts, which sell for $20 to $22, are expensive to produce.
Frazier said the various state bills and laws infringe on his First Amendment rights to free speech.
Waring said Frazier is selling a commercial product, and that opens the door to state regulation.
"This is clearly commercial speech. He's not giving the shirts away," Waring said. "I don't dispute that if he was giving the shirts away to make a political statement, we probably couldn't do anything about that."
However, a constitutional law expert said the fact that the dead soldiers' names are public record and that the Arizona legislation grants exceptions for plays, articles and certain other uses could undermine its constitutionality.
"You can't make some irrational distinctions and stop some people and not others without a really good reason," said Paul Bender, an Arizona State University professor and a top Justice Department official in the Clinton administration.
Bender said the shirts are clearly a political statement: "He's not advertising anything on the T-shirts."

I'm having the worst damn week of my whole damn life so I'm going to write this while I'm pissed off enough to do it right.
I am SICK of all this bullshit people are writing about the Iraq war. I am abso-fucking-lutely sick to death of it. What the fuck do most of you know about it? You watch it on TV and read the commentaries in the newspaper or Newsweek or whatever god damn yuppie news rag you subscribe to and think you're all such fucking experts that you can scream at each other like five year old about whether you're right or not. Let me tell you something: unless you've been there, you don't know a god damn thing about it. It you haven't been shot at in that fucking hell hole, SHUT THE FUCK UP!
How do I dare say this to you moronic war supporters who are "Supporting our Troops" and waving the flag and all that happy horse shit? I'll tell you why. I'm a Marine and I served my tour in Iraq. My husband, also a Marine, served several. I left the service six months ago because I got pregnant while he was home on leave and three days ago I get a visit from two men in uniform who hand me a letter and tell me my husband died in that fucking festering sand-pit. He should have been home a month ago but they extended his tour and now he's coming home in a box.
You fuckers and that god-damn lying sack of shit they call a president are the reason my husband will never see his baby and my kid will never meet his dad.
And you know what the most fucked up thing about this Iraq shit is? They don't want us there. They're not happy we came and they want us out NOW. We fucked up their lives even worse than they already were and they're pissed off. We didn't help them and we're not helping them now. That's what our soldiers are dying for.
Oh while I'm good and worked up, the government doesn't even have the decency to help out the soldiers whos lives they ruined. If you really believe the military and the government had no idea the veterans' hospitals were so fucked up, you are a god-damn retard. They don't care about us. We're disposable. We're numbers on a page and they'd rather forget we exist so they don't have to be reminded about the families and lives they ruined while they're sipping their cocktails at another fund raiser dinner. If they were really concerned about supporting the troops, they'd bring them home so their families wouldn't have to cry at a graveside and explain to their children why mommy or daddy isn't coming home. Because you can't explain it. We're not fighting for our country, we're not fighting for the good of Iraq's people, we're fighting for Bush's personal agenda. Patriotism my ass. You know what? My dad served in Vietnam and NOTHING HAS CHANGED.
So I'm pissed. I'm beyond pissed. And I'm going to go to my husband funeral and recieve that flag and hang it up on the wall for my baby to see when he's older. But I'm not going to tell him that his father died for the stupidty of the American government. I'm going to tell him that his father was a hero and the best man I ever met and that he loved his country enough to die for it, because that's all true and nothing will be solved by telling my son that his father was sent to die by people who didn't care about him at all.
Fuck you, war supporters, George W. Bush, and all the god damn mother fuckers who made the war possible. I hope you burn in hell.

Un-baptized Catholic babies will not go to 'Limbo,' in a recent decision by Pope Benedict. The new position of the Vatican claims that new 'such children enjoy an eternal state of perfect natural happiness, a state commonly called limbo, but without being in communion with God.' Hmm. Based on the descriptions of 'God' in approved scripture, one wonders if this is not the most desirable outcome for these little souls.

In other news, the local Homeland Security mullah in New Orleans declares that in the event of another catastrophic event, due to legalities designed to avoid lawsuits that have proliferated in the wake of Katrina, people with wheelchairs, guns and / or pets will not be able to utilize government evacuation services such as busses and other transportation..
I suppose, if the city is flooded again, the remaining residents will be armed with weapons, pets or wheelchairs, ready to duke it out over the limited resources available.
It remains to be seen whether the Glock, the 'Rascal' or 'Fluffy' will prevail in the acquisition of fresh water, MRE's and Nike shoes.

their fucking eyes on ... In 1960, when I came
out of prison as an ex-convict, I had more freedom
under parolee supervision than there's available to
an average citizen in America right now... God
almighty, what have we done to each other?"
--Merle Haggard (June, 2002)
"All men recognize the right of revolution;
that is, the right to refuse allegiance to
and to resist the government,
when it's tyranny or it's inefficiency
are great and unendurable."
- Henry David Thoreau
